If you have allergies, this can trigger symptoms like sneezing, congestion, and itching. Additionally, warmer weather can also lead to dehydration and heat exhaustion.

It is important to drink plenty of fluids and stay cool when pregnant during the spring.

10 Spring Pregnancy Survival Tips

If you are pregnant, you may be wondering how to best take care of yourself during this time. One of the most important things you can do is to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and avoid sugary drinks. Spring weather can be unpredictable, so it’s also important to dress in layers. Wearing light, breathable fabrics will help you stay cool when the weather is warm and layer up when it’s cold. Here are some other spring pregnancy survival tips:

1) Get plenty of rest

Getting plenty of rest is super crucial during your pregnancy no matter how far along you are. The warmer weather can make it harder to sleep, so try to keep your bedroom cool and dark. If you have trouble sleeping, try drinking a cup of herbal tea (like the Organic Peaceful Mama Tea) or listening to some calming music before bed.

2) Eat healthy foods

Healthy eating is important during pregnancy regardless of the season, but it’s especially important in the spring. Eating foods high in vitamins and minerals will help you stay energized and give your baby the nutrients they need to grow. If you’re not good with planning or picking out healthy food options or just want to take the guessing out of eating all the right foods while pregnant, then check out this awesome pregnancy cookbook that mommies are raving over!!

3) Exercise regularly

Exercise is an important part of staying healthy during pregnancy. It can help strengthen your muscles, improve circulation, and reduce stress. Choose low-impact activities like walking or swimming that are safe for pregnant women. Always consult with your doctor first!

When I was pregnant with my sweet baby girl, I was in the military still and had to take what we called “Pregnancy PT.” And let’s just say during your first trimester you were expected to still be able to perform as you did before getting pregnant.

I’m talking about still being able to do push-ups and run. And to add the icing on the cake, the groups were sectioned off by trimester but not by the normal trimester weeks, first trimester went all the way up to like 16-18 weeks (which at that point, the only thing you were able to moderate, was the exercises that required you to get on your back, and push-ups).

Looking back, I’m happy I did participate in pregnancy pt because I feel like my body was super ready when it was time to give birth! I was super ready to push! You can read more about my birth story here!

4) Avoid hot tubs and saunas

Hot tubs and saunas can be relaxing, but they should be avoided during pregnancy. The high temperatures can put you at risk of overheating and dehydration. You can read up more on the effects of Hot tubs and saunas while pregnant, here!

5) Wear sunscreen

Sunscreen is an absolute must during the spring. Make sure to apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen before going outside.

6) Stay away from insect bites

Mosquitos and other bugs can be a nuisance during the spring. Make sure to wear insect repellent when you are outside, and try to stay away from areas where there will be lots of insects.

7) Drink plenty of fluids

Staying hydrated is essential during pregnancy, so make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. You can also add some flavor to your water by adding fruit slices or herbs like mint or basil.

8) Wear comfortable shoes

Wearing comfortable shoes is important for pregnant women during the spring. Choose lightweight shoes made from breathable materials like cotton or canvas.

9) Take your prenatal vitamins

Prenatal vitamins are important for a healthy pregnancy. Make sure to take your prenatal vitamins every day and talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

10) Listen to your body

Finally, it is important to listen to your body during pregnancy. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to reach out to your doctor or midwife.

Following these tips, you can survive and thrive during spring pregnancy! Stay cool, hydrated, and safe this season. And remember, if you have any questions or concerns, be sure to speak with your healthcare provider. They are always the best resource for advice during pregnancy.
